Policies to list
- Insurer name and policy number for each life, health, and motor policy
- Type of plan (term, endowment, ULIP, floater, etc.)
- Sum assured or sum insured
- Premium paying term and premium amount (approximate)
- Last premium paid date and payment mode
People & nominations
- Nominee names — still correct?
- Appointee for minor nominees if applicable
- Policyholder vs life assured if different
Status checks
- Any policy lapsed or paid-up?
- Maturity or money-back dates in the next 24 months
- Outstanding loan against LIC policy (if any)
- Open claim, surrender, or porting under consideration
Goals to discuss
- Has income or family size changed since purchase?
- Is term cover roughly 10× annual income?
- Health sum insured realistic for Chennai/private hospitals you use?
- Old vs new tax regime — still relevant for 80C/80D (confirm with CA)
Documents to gather (if available)
- Latest policy bond or PDF
- Last premium receipt
- LIC policy status printout from official portal (you log in — we do not store passwords)
- Recent health renewal notice
